Lawrence has a mostly clear white chest. Olivia has a "necklace" that is a sort of mottled brown. For there to be "peeps" I think she would have had to be sitting in the nest much more consistently. In fact, the nest has been empty for hours (or possibly even days) at a time. I wonder if you heard Lawrence. He sometimes calls softly to Olivia.Black Jack's Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18436115876996209227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5731660835554890553.post-85271333419755779462011-07-02T22:12:57.419-07:002011-07-02T22:12:57.419-07:00I was down at the nest on July 1st and posted some...I was down at the nest on July 1st and posted some photos of my day. Could you tell me if this is Lawrence or Olivia? http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150230353056607.311975.586291606&l=8eeb8e5eab
Working on the nest and I believe there's chirps coming from the nest.Brenda Blisshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07269998398303570290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5731660835554890553.post-72432515170295255782011-06-27T19:15:27.969-07:002011-06-27T19:15:27.969-07:00We must visit Roedde House! I had a 50 plus collection of hats on my office wall many of which helped me introduce various plays and novels. The only one I kept was my poetry hat which I bought from a stall in Xian, China. My colleagues could always tell what I was teaching or how I was feeling by the hat on my head!

As always, I enjoy the commentary about the birds, flowers and fauna...in this post a very amusing otter!! So nice to see them up close through your camera's eye.

I'm noticing many more osprey around this year. I remember how rare eagle sightings were a decade or two ago, and now they are everywhere - I can't help wonder if we are going to see the same growth in the osprey population. Beautiful birds!Jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08231007979360748217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5731660835554890553.post-43041090257202922022011-06-26T09:12:09.820-07:002011-06-26T09:12:09.820-07:00WOW!!!! Your bird pictures are becoming more outstanding every day. The green head of the mallard is brilliant, the osprey in flight is magnificent and the gull caught mid-air appears to be smiling. Funny how you managed to step in the only puddle around … I’d say that’s because you dive wholeheartedly into life!

The hat collection pictures are also fantastic. I’ve always loved historic clothing collections (some are in my closet) because they are so revealing of the times. :)Penelope Noteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01965692242969563279noreply@blogger.com
