The Notable Skies in my Week (for Skywatch Friday)

On Sunday evening, we walked East along the seawall towards the Cambie Bridge.  I looked to my left (more or less to the North) and wondered if the architects for the area..
chose the exteriors with a dappled sky in mind.
I like to imagine the roof over BC Place enjoys rising into the many different sky-patterns that it has seen in its relatively young life.
On Monday evening, we walked as far as English Bay and caught just a hint of mango in the sunset..
before it disappeared under a steel-grey cover.
Yesterday afternoon, I again walked in a Westerly direction, but looked back to the East to see just a few patches of blue sky.
This small section of the walking path is my favourite bit as it is unpaved.  The greys seemed to be dominating the smaller and smaller bits of blue,
so I zoomed in on a shapely blue section (does anyone see a large man wearing a high hat and reaching forward?) of sky, hoping that it might win out over the..
grey skies behind the Granville Bridge.  Not to happen. Raindrops started to fall, and I put my camera away.
Those have been the notable skies in my week.  For other skies around the world, check out the Skywatch Friday web site.

  7. There is never a dull moment when looking up at the ever changing skies. I do like the “hint of mango” shots as it really describes the color. And I can see the man with a top hat. The smallest cloud at the bottom looks like a caterpillar wiggling towards a big mouth in the sky. :)

  8. I don't see a large man wearing a high hat. I see a big face on the right with eyeglasses, a sharp little nose, open mouth and a big chin. Cloud people can be so interesting.

  16. You’re a great sky watcher and photographer, Carol! I especially love the first two shots. Even when sky looks unnerving, we can relax with the knowledge that things are ever-changing and are never the same.
